ESFM Dublin congress: feline infectious disease and cardiology
(01.07.2004) Three days of lectures, great speakers and Irish hospitality at its best make up the feline event of the year.
European Society of Feline Medicine (ESFM) Feline Congress in The Burlington Hotel, Dublin, September 24 26.
The ESFM Congress is to be sponsored by Hills and Fort Dodge. Intervet are supporting the fun-packed social programme.
Keynote speakers Mike Lappin from Colorado State University and Virginia Luis Fuentes from the RVC, London will be joined by Carmel Mooney from University College Dublin, Claudia Reusch from the University of Zurich and Susanne Boroffka from the University of Utrecht.
The main topics are feline infectious diseases and cardiology, and will cover everything from giardia and heart failure to vaccines and zoonoses. An Interactive Day on the Sunday will be devoted to problem solving in endrocrinology, cardiology and infectious disease. A full conference programme can be found on www.fabcats.org
Dublins largest hotel, The Burlington is centrally located in one of D ublins most attractive districts and will hold the lectures and some of the social events. On Friday evening the Welcome Buffet will be held in the Burlingtons fantastic Irish Pub with live Irish music and on Saturday evening dinner guests will be transported from the Burlington to the Guinness Storehouse for the Congress Dinner and dancing.
The warm atmosphere of the Irish will be in full swing on the ESFM conference weekend as it coincides with the Irish football finals. Book accommodation early to avoid disappointment. The Burlington is offering a reduced rate to Congess delegates.
Registration £250/ 385 for FAB members, £300/ 460 non-members. Price includes all lectures, tea and coffee throughout, welcome reception and lunch on
Sunday. The dinner on Saturday night will be available at a subsidised rate
of £35/55 per head.
